Author Talk: Noble Fragments, by Michael Visontay
About this event
The Brock House Library Committee brings you the first in the Author Talks series. Author Michael Visontay will give a talk about his recent book, Noble Fragments, a true story of family, history, and scandal. While looking through some old yellowed documents in his family archives, Michael began to suspect a connection between his grandfather and an antiquarian bookseller who, in 1921, acquired a Gutenberg Bible, took it apart, then sold its separated pages—a shocking act that many called vandalism, sacrilege, and a tragedy. Michael’s investigation took him around the globe, through several generations, and to the source of the wealth that allowed his family to remake their life after surviving World War II in Europe. Don’t miss this fascinating story
