Women’s Brain and Heart Health: What You Need to Know
About this event
Presented by Dr. Karin Humphries
Heart disease and stroke are the leading cause of premature death for women in Canada, yet because most research has focused on men, women’s early warning signs are often missed, leading to delayed diagnoses and poorer outcomes.
Join Dr. Karin Humphries for an interactive presentation on women’s heart and brain health. She will highlight new research, clinical findings, risk factors, and practical steps for lifelong health.
Men are welcome too! You will learn useful information about your own heart and brain, and also about how you might one day support a partner, relative, or friend with cardiovascular problems.
Dr. Humphries is Associate Professor Emerita in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC and she held the UBC–Heart & Stroke Foundation Professorship in Women’s Cardiovascular Health.
This talk is hosted by the Heart & Stroke Foundation and will include remarks by Robyn Jones-Murrell, Senior VP; and Moira Fitzpatrick, Heart & Stroke ambassador and member of Brock House. Light refreshments provided.
