The Life Writing group meets once a week to share short pieces of autobiographical writing on an assigned topic. We listen, comment, support and encourage each other. Many of us, after receiving feedback and rewriting, have combined all our weekly efforts into a book. This is a well-organized class that requires commitment. Limited to nine members. Basic Line Dancing is a weekly commitment held on Thursdays from 1 to 2 pm. Participants must be comfortable with standing up and engaging in low-impact movement for 60 minutes, as well as accept a physical liability waiver agreement. The class is free for members, and donations are welcome.

Are you interested in joining the Brock House Folk Singing group? Bring your voices and instruments! Typical activities include song circles where individuals offer songs, poetry and laughter (a folk song is anything you want it to be!). The group will join in playing or singing whenever invited. Every 2nd and 4th Friday.

In 200l, during a critical time in British agriculture, a Devonshire Vet (Nigel Hastings) is assigned to dispose of the herd of cows belonging to his friend, a local farmer (David Fielder). The Vet is reluctant but must do his job. The farmer is enraged by the situation. Both with uncertain futures, they examine their lives. (Drama, 2023, 81 mins, UK).
Any member of Brock House Society who is used to hiking is welcome to join our group. Please phone the coordinator or hike leader before participating. Have appropriate footwear and bring your lunch including sufficient fluids. Hikers participate at their own risk and will be asked to sign a waiver. Dogs are not permitted. Hikes are subject to change due to weather or trail conditions. Please check the Friday email updates.
